01Agreed principles

  1. Accuracy: facts are verified before publication and sources are named or described.

  2. A clear distinction between established facts, hypotheses and opinions.

  3. People and organisations named are given the opportunity to respond.

  4. Responsibility is attributed in proportion to the established facts.

  5. Editorial decisions are independent of commercial interests.

  6. Errors are corrected visibly.
